EFL Teacher
In many summer schools, EFL Teachers are not only involved in teaching but also in other areas of the summer school programme such as airport transfers, sports, excursions and of course looking after the students. Lessons usually take place over 5 mornings per week and teachers are normally encouraged to prepare rounded lessons, working on all skills, but with an emphasis on oral production and fluency.

Activities Staff
Activities Staff is another summer school job and here, you will organise and execute afternoon sports and games, evening entertainment and off-site excursions to London and other places of interest. Activities Staff are expected to be enthusiastic at all times, encouraging students to participate fully in the activities programme, in a controlled and secure environment. Activities Staff are also often involved in all areas of summer school life including airport transfers and pastoral care.

Course Director
The Course Director is responsible for the smooth running of a centre and is a pivotal role at summer school. Responsible for the safety of up to 250 students, the Course Director oversees every aspect of summer school life and this role demands exceptional and wide-ranging skills.

Director of Studies
The Director of Studies works closely with the Course Director and is responsible for the smooth running of the EFL programme at summer school. Duties will usually include administering testing, class placement, class changes, staff time-tabling, exit reports, lesson observations and feedback and staff appraisals.

Activities Manager
The Activities Manager leads a team of activities staff and co-ordinates the activities programme, including excursions. The safety of students and ensuring safety procedures are followed, is an essential part of the job, as is the ability to enthuse and excite students with a varied and well-balanced activities programme inclusing sports, games, arts and crafts and evening entertainment.

Officer Administrator
The Office Administrator gives administrative support to the Course Director and other members of the Senior Team. Exact duties will vary from school to school, but they may include checking students in on arrival, administering pocket money and organising bedroom allocation.
